The Anderson House is an exceptional and rare intact example of Organic Modernism by W. Earl Wear. Designing in the Organic tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright, Wear only designed a handful of residences due to the extraordinary care and craftsmanship he gave to each individual commission. Working with the residence’s current owner, ARG prepared a Los Angeles County Landmark application, Historic Structure Report, and Mills Act application.

Located in Topanga Canyon, the residence is constructed of and clad with old-growth redwood inside
and out, responding beautifully to its canyon environment. The historic property is Los Angeles County
Landmark #5 and the first property in the County to successfully be granted an exemption to the
Mills Act valuation cap.
