Energy Conservation in Mid-Century Modern Buildings
ARG’s Maya Foty and Justine Leong had a great time in Salem on September 16 at the DoCoMoMo Oregon symposium on Energy Conservation in Mid-Century Modern Buildings. Justine presented on ARG’s rehabilitation of the Furnace Creek Visitor’s Center in Death Valley National Park, focusing on the project’s energy design upgrades. The Furnace Creek Visitor’s Center is a classic example of the early modernist architecture of the National Park Service’s Mission 66 building program.
