The beloved Palm Springs Plaza Theatre re-opened its doors to the public this past weekend. Originally completed in 1936, the building was rehabilitated for use as a state-of-the-art performance venue. ARG served as the restoration architect and historic tax credit consultant, ensuring the preservation of the theatre’s historic character while allowing for upgrades to meet modern performance standards.
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo held a special performance on Opening Night and referred to the restored 1936 atmospheric design, “…we celebrate reopening this place, a place where art can exist, where you get to sit under the stars, and I get to sing to you.”
